The Main Event: The main pov character in this story is Anna Cortez. This is her only series that features professional wrestling, and I can find no evidence from her website or social media accounts that she is a fan or watches wrestling outside of whatever research she may have done while working on this story (spoiler alert: not much). She must write fast and the editing process must not be too strenuous because she's cranking one out every 3 to 6 months. All her books fall into the romance genre, and she has several different series. Valentine (pseudonym, I'm guessing because "valentine" is just too convenient a last name for a romance author) published her first book in 2012 and has published nearly 20 books since that time. The Build: According to her website, Michelle A. Even though I'm nowhere near the target audience for this book, the tie-in to professional wrestling gave it a better chance than a random bodice ripper would've had to suck me in and provide an enjoyable experience. I like to believe that there are things to like about every genre, so it might have been possible that I could have been blown away by this book, and it opened new horizons in my future reading preferences. Prologue: Phenomenal X was the second and last of my Carr Fire hiatus books, and it was not very good.
